Scarf Folding Tips

Start with the basic fold. Fold the scarf once to make a triangle (tip to tip), then fold the pointed edges back to the folded edge to create a long rectangle shape. The scarf can then be tied with a basic square knot at your neck or around the waist.

Create the Chanel look. Drape a folded scarf (see Step 1) in front of your neck with the edges behind your back. Then crisscross the ends and bring them to the front of your body. Tie a single knot in the front and let the edges fall with one on top of the other.

Create a bow tie. Fold the scarf (see Step 1) and tie it around your neck as you would a regular tie. Place the folded scarf around your neck, draping each side on the front of your body. Make one side longer than the other and wrap the long side around the short side in a knot. Tie a bow as you would tie shoelaces.

Use a scarf clip. Scarf clips can be as fancy or plain as you wish. Use the clip instead of a knot in any fashion to spice up your look.

Tips & Warnings
Scarves are handy for more than fashion. In emergencies, use your scarf to protect your hands, cover a wound or use it as a short rope.
To accentuate or elongate the look of your neck, wear the scarf panels long in front of your body, which gives the illusion that your neck is longer.
