How to Play "Frogger" Online for Free

Frogger is a classic arcade game where the player tries to maneuver the eponymous frog across a busy street, then through a treacherous river to a series of lily pads. While the original arcade version cannot be downloaded legally, several clones, using the same name, can be played over the Internet.

Frogger Online for Free

1. Navigate your web browser to Neave Games (see Resources below) to play the most widely-circulated Frogger clone. Click on the "Frogger" logo near the top of the screen to start the game. A larger-screen version is linked below, but it requires a valid e-mail address after your first visit. Unfortunately, there is no music in this clone.

2. Point your Web browser to Big Money Arcade (see Resources below) to play the same version, but with an online high score table for registered players.

3. Visit The PC Man's Web site (see Resources below) for a version with retro graphics and sound. This particular clone is quite punishing in difficulty.

4. Use the arrow keys to move Frogger around the screen. Avoid the automobiles and do not fall in the river.

5. Deliver Frogger to each lily pad to complete the level. Land on the lily pads with flies for a bonus, but watch out for the crocodiles that occasionally lurk there as well.

6. Touch the female (pink) frog and bring her to safety to score extra points.
