You can easily show a docked application in a new Finder window on Mac OS X, without having to manually open a new window and search for the application. Follow these steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

In the Finder, move your mouse cursor to the dock icon of the application you wish to open in a Finder window.

  2. Step 2

Click and hold the cursor on the launched application icon in the dock for about a second to enable the application pop-up menu.

  3. Step 3

Drag the cursor to the "Show in FInder" in the dock's pop-up application menu, select "Show in Finder" and release the mouse.

  4. Step 4

Immediately after selecting "Show in FInder" a new Finder window will open, with the docked application selected.
