Things You'll Need:
- Calendar or date book
-
Step 1
Have a date book or calendar handy. Being able to jot down events or parties will help alleviate double bookings and overlapping events. If you’re able to view your calendar at any time, it’s easier to see exactly what festivities you have planned and what new events you can add to your existing schedule.
-
Step 2
Make room for last-minute invitations. When you have open spots available for surprise invitations, it will be easy to add them without putting stress on your existing schedule. If there are no invitations on the date you designated as an open spot, take that time to rest and recuperate from your busy schedule.
-
Step 3
RSVP as soon as possible. This helps you be certain that you are on a guest list. This will ensure that not only are you able to attend, it will let your host or hostess know that you will be arriving, allowing them to make plans for your presence as well.
-
Step 4
Know your limitations. It’s not always possible to attend every event or party to which you're invited. Choose the most important event when deciding upon overlapping parties. You can also choose by location or importance in networking if you are invited to business events.
-
Step 5
Assign tasks to others. When you have a busy schedule, you can assign certain tasks to friends and family members when possible. If you have to pick up a dress or suit from the cleaners to wear to an important function, ask your spouse or friend to pick it up.
-
Step 6
Relax. It’s important to not get overwhelmed and take the pleasure out of attending parties. Getting stressed over holiday events won’t make things any easier on yourself.
