How to Make a Lollipop Turkey
These lollipop turkeys make a nice little treat more festive for Thanksgiving. Kids will love them. They can be placed at The Thanksgiving table as a favor. Fill a small basket with a bouquet arrangement of lollipop turkeys to set out on a coffee table or counter for the Thanksgiving season. They also make a fun centerpiece for the table or the kid’s table. Make some to pass out at school too or take some into the office to make people smile. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Leave the cellophane wrappers on the lollipops. The tail feathers will be attached to the outside of the wrapper and the lollipop will stay clean. Trim the excess cellophane so it is a circle, not a square. Be careful not to cut the cellophane covering off.

2
Cut out teardrop shaped turkey tail feathers out of different colors of construction paper. Make them at least 1 inch long. Cut about five to seven tear drop shaped feathers. Glue them to the back of the lollipop all fanned out, as if the turkey is showing off his plumage.

3
Make the head of the turkey by cutting out a smaller teardrop head piece. Then glue it on the front of the lollipop with the point of the tear on the bottom. Cut out a little wattle and glue it under the head so that it hangs down. If you want eyes for your lollipop turkey, you can either cut out small pieces of construction paper to make small eyes and glue them in place or add more humor by buying small wiggly googly craft eyes and gluing them to the paper faces. Make sure you let all the glued pieces dry before you present them or arrange them.

To make a turkey bouquet, put a handful of turkey lollipops together and tie them together with ribbon and bow. Then present a turkey bouquet to someone to give them a smile. Consider making a bunch of these to bring to food banks, hospitals, nursing homes or other places where the people might need a small token of Thanksgiving cheer. These lollipop turkeys would be fun for a simple scout troop project too. Send a turkey lollipop bouquet to school with your kids for each teacher along with a turkey telegram wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving.
