A sexy, smoky eye works well with women of all skin and hair colors and it adds the right touch of glamour to any nighttime or dressy attire. Creating a sexy, smoky eye is not as difficult as it may seem and is achievable with just a few core materials. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to quickly create this gorgeous and sexy look.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Eye shadow in a dark, metallic color like green or gray
  • Eye shadow sponge applicator
  • Large eye shadow brush
  • Eyeliner
  • Eyelash curler
  • Black mascara
  1. Step 1

Using the sponge applicator, apply the eye shadow to your entire eyelid, taking care to not go past the crease.

  2. Step 2

Using the large eye shadow brush, blend the eyeshadow by moving the brush along your natural eye socket. Gently brush the eye shadow color up and out, focusing on the outer eyelid area.

  3. Step 3

Apply another layer of the eye shadow to your eyelids again with the sponge applicator.

  4. Step 4

Blend again using the large brush.

  5. Step 5

Completely line your upper and lower lids with the eyeliner. Stay as close as possible to your lash line and inner rims.

  6. Step 6

Using the sponge applicator, apply the eye shadow along the line on your lower lids, smudging your eyeliner as you do so. Apply a little more eye shadow on the outer area of your lower eyelid.

  7. Step 7

Curl your lashes with the eyelash curler, and apply two coats of mascara to both the upper and lower lashes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Blending with the large brush is the most important step in smudging your eye shadow to create the smoky look.
  • Curling your eyelashes well will help to make your eyes seem larger and will create a sexier frame for your eye shadow.
