1
Tie soap to the branches of the trees to keep deer from chewing the bark. Deer do not like soap.
-
2
Clean up any garbage lingering around your property, such as candy wrappers, gum and food particles. This stuff attracts deer.
-
-
3
Keep lids tight on garbage cans and even recycling bins. Don’t make it easy for deer to smell or get to the discarded food and drink.
-
4
Keep a security light on in the area. This discourages deer from coming up to the house. This also helps avoid accidental chewing on wires.
-
5
Encourage children not to feed deer. Most children want to do just this because they see deer as cute, but it doesn’t help efforts to keep the deer away.
