How to Draw Woody Woodpecker
Woody Woodpecker is a cartoon character who has long tickled the funny bone of audiences young and old alike. His antics and disrespectful behavior give people an acceptable release and catharsis against authority. The drawing described here shows Woody standing with his right side toward the artist and looking at the artist.

1
Note picture of Woody Woodpecker. This is an older drawing that is easier to follow. Draw a "curved cone" for the top beak. Always use the provided drawing for sizing. On the "top" of the beak, make a mark for a nostril. Drop down, and under the bottom line half-way back, create teeth by spacing horizontal lines.
-
2
Draw a curved line under the teeth. This line should extend in a semicircle and continue in the form of a "stork's pouch" up to right above the lower line of the top beak. There draw a spaced double line from the bottom line of the bottom beak to the bottom line of the top beak.

3
Draw an oval at the top line of the top beak. Next to that, draw another oval. Inside the two ovals, place rounded black dots for eyes. You should get the appearance of Woody looking at you.Draw a "swayback" line from the top of the bottom beak. At the top, create a gaggle of spaced points completed by a swayback line down to the top of the outside eye.Complete the head by drawing a "plume" from the top of Woody's head as illustrated.
-
4
Draw the neck from the bottom of the bulge in the chin. It requires two parallel vertical lines. Draw the collar with two parallel horizontal lines.
-
5
Draw the left arm straight out from the collar at a horizontal presentation. Two parallel lines should end in a hand that is essentially a star with the points out of sync. Note the drawing for the model. The second arm comes down at a 90-degree angle with the right arm having two parallel lines ending in a "star" with four star "prongs" as with the left arm. The right arm is vertical.
-
6
Draw the body as an oval and cover it with a covering emanating from the right arm intended to be a feather backing designed to look like an overcoat.
-
7
Finally draw the legs. You can accomplish this by drawing two separate sets of vertical lines with "feet." The legs are on separate sides of the body, and each has two horizontal lines to give the impression of fowl legs.
