Things You'll Need

  • 1 lemon
  • 2 cups water
  • Pan
  • Stove
  • Spray container
  • Cheesecloth or fine silk Cloth

Instructions

      Slice one lemon into thin pieces. Place pieces in pan.

      Pour 2 cups of water over lemons.

      Place pan on stove and turn on medium heat. Simmer the mixture until the liquid is reduced by half.

      Strain the mixture. Use a cheesecloth or fine silk cloth.

      Pour the remaining liquid into a spray bottle. If the liquid is too thick, add half a cup of water to dilute the liquid. This recipe creates 1 to 1 1/2 cups hair spray.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can substitute an orange for the lemon.

  • Every cup of hairspray can be preserved with 1 oz. Bay Rum.

  • This should be created fresh every few days. Since the product is natural, it can easily spoil in comparison to its shelf counterparts. Keep it in the refrigerator between use.
