      Open System Preferences in the Apple Menu

      In your Finder, select the Apple Menu in the upper left-hand corner of your Menubar, select and open "System Preferences."

      Select the Desktop and Screen Saver Preference Pane

      In the open "Preference Pane" window, select and click "Desktop and Screen Saver" to open the "Desktop and Screen Saver" Preference Pane.

      Select "Desktop" in the "Desktop and Screen Saver" Preference Panel

      Select and click the "Desktop" button at the top of "Desktop and Screen Saver" Preference Panel to activate the "Desktop" options.

      The "Change picture" check-box in Desktop Preferences

      Select the folder on the left-hand side of the screen you wish to use as your folder containing your pictures for your desktop. Now select and check the "Change picture" check-box on the bottom middle of the screen to have your desktop pictures automatically change.

      The Time Interval Preferene Pop-Up Menu

      Select the pop-up window next to the "Change picture" check-box to set the time interval for how often you want your Mac to change the desktop picture. When you have selected the interval preference, close the Preference Pane window to save your changes.
