How to Create a Bottle Cap Display
Creating a bottle cap display is a great way to recycle and also create your own art at the same time. With very few tools and a collection of bottle caps, you can create a bottle cap display that is timeless.

- Bottle caps (approximately 500)
- Old coffee table
- Clear glue/ Glue gun
- Sheet of clear Plexiglass (coffee table top sized)
- Sandpaper

Sandpaper your coffee table top. This preps the area before creating your bottle cap display. Make sure you sand the area smooth with the sandpaper.

Place your bottle caps all over the coffee table, leaving a half inch on all sides open. Do not glue yet. Make a pattern with the different colored bottle caps or place them symmetrically. This is the layout for your bottle cap display. If you are unhappy with the first design, try another. Find a layout and design you are happy with.

Start gluing the bottle caps into place. Be patient and glue each one. This may take some time so be patient and double check to make sure you did not miss a bottle cap.

Place 2 glue lines around the edges of the coffee table in the half inch left open. Do this as quickly as possible without hurting yourself. Hot glue gets hot and can cause burns. Take your plexiglass and place flat on top of the bottle caps.

Press down firmly on the Plexiglass until the glue sets. You should be able to see your bottle cap display through the Plexiglass. Sand the edges of the Plexiglass so they are smooth.

Tips & Warnings
Don't be afraid to change the bottle cap design. Have fun with this project.
Be careful with Hot Glue Guns. Serious burns and injuries could happen. Only use with Adult Supervision!
