Use Coconut Oil for Skin

Coconut oil has been commonly used for cooking tropical dishes, but did you know that it is also known to be a multi-purpose beauty product? Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer and skin softener. Virgin coconut oil comes straight from the source of fresh coconuts. It's affordable and easy to use, rivaling conventional moisturizers that contain chemical additives and preservatives. All-natural virgin coconut oil is loaded with tons of antioxidants that keep the skin smooth and supple, while fighting against free radical damage and long-term signs of aging. A protective layer of coconut oil can be applied to fight against the effects of harsh weather, such as sun, cold weather and the wind.

    Things You'll Need

      • 1

Shop for coconut oil. Look for high quality coconut oil that include the words "unrefined," "organic" and "virgin" on its label.

      • 2

Liquify the coconut oil. If the coconut oil is in a solid state, place the closed container in a tub of warm water until it turns liquid. You can also simply leave your coconut oil to thaw at around room temperature. Unrefined coconut oil melts at 76 degrees F.

      • 3

Decide how you would like to use the coconut oil on your skin. You can apply it after bath, overnight or during the day for an all-over body moisturizer.

      • 4

Apply coconut oil. Massage directly onto skin.

      • 5

Store the coconut oil properly. In order to extend the coconut oil's shelf life, store it in solid form below 76 degrees F.

Is there a difference between Pure and Virgin? Everyone says to get Virgin but I can only find Pure... is that ok? Or should I search harder? Thanks!!
