Things You'll Need:
- Old T-shirt
- Scissors
- White crafting glue
- Small-sized drinking cups
- Wiggly eyes (one pair per mummy cup)
- Craft tracing pen or pencil
- Felt fabric in orange or black
- Candy or other treats
-
Step 1
Spread out the old T-Shirt on your workspace. Use scissors to cut along the T-shirt's seams and down the sides. Spread the T-Shirt out once again and cut off two sections, each one approximately 6 by 6 inches square.
-
Step 2
Cut both of the 6-inch square sections of fabric into strips. Each of the strips should be approximately 1/2 inch to 1 inch wide.
-
Step 3
Spread out one strip, smoothing it out flat. Apply glue to the side facing up. Spread the glue thinly to keep the material from bulking up when you apply it to your paper cups.
-
Step 4
Start at the bottom of the cup and begin wrapping the strip of cloth around its surface, pressing gently to keep it in place. Continue to wrap the cloth around the cup until the cup is fully covered. If the strip is too long, simply push it gently down to fit.
-
Step 5
Squeeze two small dots of white crafting glue onto the front of the cup, and press one wiggly eye gently onto each respective dot of glue. Repeat the same steps for a second cup.
-
Step 6
Trace a bow onto the felt. This can simply be two small triangles that touch tip to tip, forming a bow. Cut the bow out of the felt and set it aside. Trace and cut out a second bow.
-
Step 7
Apply a bow to each mummy cup. For a girl's treat cup, glue one of the bows at the top, above the wiggly eyes, like a bow in her hair. For the boy's treats, glue the bow at the bottom of the cup like a bow tie.
-
Step 8
Set the cups aside to dry completely before handling them again. Once thoroughly dry, fill the mummy cups with treats to hand out to trick-or-treaters or invited party guests who show up at your door.
