Coachella is a big place, it is very hot and there are thousands of things to see and do. Here are tips on how to make the most of your 3 days at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Things You'll Need:

  • Tickets to Coachella
  • Transportation
  • Setlist
  • Map
  1. Step 1

    Check out the setlist the night before each day's show. Decide what bands you want to see and plan to arrive at the Empire Polo Fields at least one hour prior to the start time.

  2. Step 2

    Expect lots of traffic all day on day 1 and later in the day on day 3 and plan accordingly.

  3. Step 3

    Weather can easily be over 100 degrees. Don't drink too much alcohol. Drink lots of water.

  4. Step 4

    Pack a small backpack with baby wipes, travel sized toilet paper, eyedrops, lip balm, sunblock and a camera. Carry cash for food vendors.

  5. Step 5

    Eat throughout the day. Sun zaps your energy and food helps restore it.

  6. Step 6

    Be at the stage 15 minutes before the band you want to see goes on so you don't miss part of the set.

  7. Step 7

    Don't buy drugs from strangers or use drugs from strangers.

  8. Step 8

    Take time to visit the art installations.

  9. Step 9

    See bands you have never heard of - you'll discover new music that way.

  10. Step 10

    Sing, dance and be merry. That's what Coachella is all about.

  11. Step 11

    Have a designated drive if you are drinking alcohol.

Tips & Warnings
  • Most merchandise vendors will take Visa/Mastercard.
  • You can bring one bottle of water in per person. Make it a big one.
  • Wear a hat to keep your face out of the sun.
  • Watch out for the police.
  • Don't get drunk; the police will kick you out.
