How to Alleviate Heartburn with Raw Vegetable Juice
Heartburn, often connected with acid reflux, can be uncomfortable to the point of debilitation. There are many ways thought to eliminate acid reflux, such as avoiding caffeine, alcohol, spicy foods, sugar and eating late at night, but none of them is a definite cure. While you may want to eliminate foods from your diet to see what works for your body, you may also want to give raw vegetable juice a try. Vegetables are alkaline and will not increase your stomach acid as many foods will. Drink a glass of fresh vegetable juice daily to reduce heartburn.
Things You'll Need
- Juicer
- 1/2 cup cabbage
- 1/2 cup broccoli heads
- 2 stalks of celery (including leaves)
- 4 large carrots
- 1-inch slice of fresh ginger root
Instructions

-
1
Cut up your vegetables into portions small enough to fit into your juicer.
-
2
Stick the cabbage, broccoli, celery, carrots and ginger into the juicer one at a time. While the cabbage, broccoli and celery are all very alkaline vegetables that will balance your stomach acid and help relieve heartburn, the carrots will sweeten the drink. Cabbage helps to heal ulcers and ginger eliminates gas.

Tips & Warnings
If the raw vegetable juice does not appeal to your taste, you may add an apple to the mix.
I am not a health professional, this is just a safe suggestion worth trying if you suffer from acid stomach troubles (I've been there and it works for me). It's just celery! Of course if you are allergic to celery, then just ignore me.
