Google SMS is a free service that enables you to query Google from your cell phone via text messaging. You can use Google SMS to get addresses, phone numbers, directions, maps, weather, movie times, flights, stocks, dictionary definitions, and even use it as a calculator.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    To search for a business, address, or phone number, text message your search query to "GOOGLE" (466453). (Example: fishing boulder colorado) To find a local restaurant, type the restaurant name and your zip code, or restaurant category and zip code. (Example: italian restaurant denver.) Reply with NEXT to see more results.

  2. Step 2

    For local weather and a 5-day forecast, text w followed by your zip code.

  3. Step 3

    For a map of a particular location, text map followed by the address or location. (Example: map nyc, map 80020). You will receive a link to the map. For the link to work, you must have a subscription to a data plan (internet) on your phone.

  4. Step 4

    Try using all the features of Google SMS. Here is a list of commands:

    Movies: text m and your zip code
    Flight Status: text the airline and flight number
    Stock Quotes: text the ticker symbol
    Dictionary Definitions: text d and the word
    Calculator: text 127*56
    Translations: text "translate hello in french"
    Currency conversions: text 8 usd in yen
