I love make these easy dehydrated apples!
We have been blessed by so many friends lately with fruit. I received a bag of apples and knew my children would not be quick to eating so many before they rotted on my counter. Dehydrated apples are good for a snack, food storage, and to put in various recipes. If you can spare five minutes of your time to make your apples last a year, then this How To is For You.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Peel, core, and slice apples to desired thickness.

*note: I did not peel my apples. This depends on your preference and I love to see the red skin brighten my fruit.

  2. Step 2

Mix together 6 Tablespoons citric acid with 1 pint of water.

  3. Step 3

Dip apples into the mixture and place on dehydrator trays.

  4. Step 4

Rotate trays and let apples sit for 24-36 hours until done. We like ours to be pliable.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't let the apples soak in the mixture. They will become TART. I only do this with a couple to watch my family's funny faces.
  • Any type of Apple will do!
