Step 1
Van's WafflesFor breakfast, eat a cereal like Kashie or Trader Joes Whole Grain Strawberry or Chocolate Filled Cereal Bites. You could also try Van's Whole Grain Waffles topped with Light Whipped Cream Cheese and fruit preserves. Even a plain old bowl of oatmeal works great too.
-
Step 2
Turkey Sndwich on Whole Grain BreadFor lunch, try some whole grain pasta. I like to toss bow tie pasta or spaghetti noodles in Extra Virgin Olive Oil and top with Parmesan Cheese. Add some cooked chicken to that for some protein. Or have a turkey sandwich on some whole grain bread.
-
Step 3
Kashi Whole Grain PizzaFor dinner, have some wild rice with grilled chicken, Bulgar, spelt, corn or a quick and easy frozen meal by Kashi to top off your daily whole grain quota. I like the Whole Grain Pizzas as pictured.
-
Step 4
Eat some popcorn for a healthy snack. Yes, popcorn is healthy and a great source for whole grains! Just lay off the butter and salt. You can buy snack size microwavable bags that are light on butter and salt. To make your own healthy popcorn, after popping, put a small amount of melted butter into an olive oil sprayer and mist on popcorn. Season with Parmesan cheese, Cinnamon, Cajun or Garlic seasoning.
