How to Make Your Own Soy Candles For Gifts

Soy candles are an all natural wax made from soybeans and is a cleaner burning wax then paraffin wax. Making your own candles make a great gift for the upcoming holidays and are environmentally friendly too.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Container
  • Thermometer
  • Wick
  • Scent and/or Dye
  • Soy Wax
  • Container of your choice
  1. Step 1

    You can find all of these items in most craft stores.

  2. Step 2

    Put soy wax in container and melt wax to manufactures temperature. This will be on the package.

  3. Step 3

    Add color and/or fragrance

  4. Step 4

    Have your container ready for the melted wax. You can use a pencil to hold wick in place. This is a picture using a purchased mold.

  5. Step 5

    Pour your melted wax into a decorative container of your choice. I love to use teacups to give. Let cool. That's it. Your own handmade personal soy candle!

Tips & Warnings
  • Wrap wick around a pencil to hold wick in place and lay over container
  • Use glass, ceramic, metal etc.
  • Covered tins make great containers also
  • Add a handmade gift tag
  • Use purchased candle molds
