Things You'll Need:
- plastic shopping bags
- paper shopping bags
- scissors
- packing tape
- (optional) stencils, markers, stickers, paint
-
Step 1
Use plastic bags as wastebasket liners. They are generally the perfect size for the bathroom or office wastebaskets. When the trash is full, simply pick up the bag by the handles, tie the bag closed, and toss it out with your weekly trash.
-
Step 2
Use plastic bags for transporting wet laundry, dirty shoes, or other soiled items when you don't want to risk damaging a cloth bag.
-
Step 3
Use paper bags as brown paper. Who says you need to purchase special paper to create book covers, wrap presents, or ship something? Just turn the brown bag inside-out and cut off the ends to slip over a box, or cut as much of the paper as you'll need from the bag for your project. Use some stickers, markers or paints, and stencils for designs if you wish, and secure the paper with packing tape.
-
Step 4
Use paper bags as make-shift catch-all trays on shelves, or line shelves and drawers. For trays: cut off handles, trim to height shallow enough for you to get to the contents. You can use these trays for keeping books grouped together, hodling loose change, packets of dry mixes and other small food items, or even bottles on shelves or drawers. For lining shelves: Undo seams and cut the paper to fit.
