How to Play Snake

Snake, a popular video game from the 1970s, is still a big hit today, especially as a computer game. While simple enough in game play, it has beaten even the most devoted players. Players spend hours competing to achieve that high score. Take a few minutes to learn how to play so you can try your hand at this addictive little puzzle.

Instructions

1. Move the little line, which is a snake, by pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard. Once you have started moving, you cannot stop. Change directions with the left and right arrow keys.

2. Avoid the walls. A collision with any obstacle that is not the dots you are supposed to eat will result in the loss of a life and you will have to start again. Do not run into your own body either. As the game goes on your snake will get longer, and if you bite yourself, you will lose.

3. Aim for the dots, sometimes squares or X's, and eat them for points. While this will advance you through the levels and raise your score, it will also make your snake grow longer and move faster, while the time it takes for his tail to shrink will get longer with each level.
