How to Use Bentonite for Colon Cleanse
The term bentonite is the commercial term for montmorillonite, which is the active ingredient in many therapeutic clays. Montmorillon is a city in France where natural healers originally discovered the clay’s medicinal value. Among its many benefits, bentonite is popular as a colon cleanse.

Mix 1 tbsp of powdered bentonite clay in about 4 oz. of juice. After about a week, increase the clay amount progressively up to a maximum of 4 tbsp. daily in separate doses.

Drink the bentonite mixture on an empty stomach for best results. If you have already eaten a meal, wait approximately 1 hour before taking the supplement.

Follow the manufacturer’s directions if you decide to use bentonite in gel or capsule form. If you’re taking it under a health professional’s care, follow his instructions. Alternative doctors often modify the dose according to the person’s needs.

Add psyllium to your bentonite mixture for maximum results. Mix 1 tbsp. of bentonite (liquid form) and 1 tsp. of powder psyllium husk in about 4 oz. of juice or water. Mix it well and drink it right away.

Have plenty of water throughout the day. Expect the clay to draw toxins, viruses, and chemicals while in the intestine. When the body eliminates the bentonite in the stool, it also eliminates any pathogenic agents bound to the clay.

Manufacturers use bentonite in anti-diarrhea medications due to its ability to absorb liquids. The clay is also an ingredient in food such as yogurt and candy bars.
