Step 1
Click on the check box and set Mozilla Firefox as the default the first time you run the program. There will also be a check box to ask if you want this option to be displayed every time you run the program. If you select Firefox as the default, you can uncheck this second option.

Step 2
Open Firefox and click on ‘options’ under the ‘tools’ menu. Click on the ‘advanced’ tab in the pop up window.

Look near the bottom of the window for a clickable box that says ‘Check Now.' Click this box and a new dialogue box will open.

Click the option to ‘make Firefox the default browser’ in the dialogue box window and then click the ‘OK’ button.

Step 5
Click the ‘OK’ button in the options window. Firefox is now your default browser and will open automatically when clicking a link in an email, or other documents.
