    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • White paper
    • Pencil
    • Black crafting foam (purple is optional)
    • White crafting chalk
    • Scissors
    • Paint brush
    • Silver glitter paint
    • Large sized wiggly eyes
    • Hot glue gun
      • 1

Draw the outline of a bat onto plain white paper, using the diagram below as a guide. Keep the size of the bat small enough to fit onto an 8 1/2 by 11 size piece of paper.

      • 2

Lay down a piece of craft foam that is at least 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Cut out the outline of your bat, and then lay it flat on the black crafting foam. Using the cutout out as a template, trace around its edges with white crafting chalk. Cut the bat shape out of the black foam, cutting just inside the chalk lines.

      • 3

Attach two large wiggly eyes to the bat's head using the hot glue gun. Punch two holes into the foam, one an inch from the top, the second an inch from the bottom. The two holes should be in line with each other, right along the middle of the bat, one up near the face and one down near the bottom of the wings.

      • 4

Use the broad paint brush to apply some paint glitter along the edges of the foam bat, outlining the entire cut out. You may add some detail to the bat's wings with the glitter paint as well.

      • 5

Set the bat aside to let the glue and paint dry completely. Once it is fully dry, turn it over and apply the glitter paint to the outline on the back side as well.

      • 6

Thread your car antennae through the two holes in your bat. First slip it through the bottom hole, and slide the bat downward, and then slip the antennae through the second hole from the back of the bat. Now you can now drive in crafty Halloween style.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Slip the bat toward the lower part of your vehicle antenna to lessen the chance of wind damage or strain damage to your antenna.

    • Mix up the look a little bit by cutting a smaller version (approximately 2/3 the size of the black bat out of purple foam), and use the hot glue gun to apply it onto the front of the black bat. Then apply the eyes and glitter paint.
