As a Freelance Writer you need to market yourself and your writing, both online and off-line. Creating a freelance writer flyer that you can post on public and online bulletin boards can advertise your freelance writing skills to potential clients. As a freelance writer it's up to you to get the word out about your writing skills. Here are a few tips to help you create a freelance writer flyer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Word template
  • Clip Art
  • Color printer
  • Heavyweight, coated gloss finish Brochure paper
  1. Step 1

Select the correct type of paper. Choose a paper stock that will stand out. Opt for heavyweight, coated gloss finish Brochure paper. You can find this type of paper at Office Depot, Office Max or Staples.

  2. Step 2

Use a blank Microsoft Word Document. Start by inserting a title that will stand out. For example, “The Write Place” or “I Write For You.”

  3. Step 3

Decide on the writing services the flyer will advertise. Use the same Microsoft Word Document to type services like, “Website Content Writer” or “eBay Copywriter.” List the varying types of writing services you provide and be as creative as possible. The biggest mistake you can make is selling your services too short.

  4. Step 4

Provide contact information. Type the business name, business phone and fax numbers, email address, and online profile, if applicable. Without adequate contact information potential clients cannot contact you.

  5. Step 5

Use a software or template. Choose a software package like CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Fireworks. Choose a template and then download the template to your computer hard drive.

  6. Step 6

Open the template from your hard drive and begin editing your flyer. Simply, copy and paste the information from the Microsoft Word Document previously used onto the template.

Tips & Warnings
  • To add a personal and professional touch to the flyer, insert a personal picture or clip art that expresses your writing style.
  • Make sure a business phone number, e-mail address, cell phone and fax numbers are listed on the flyer.
