Travel by plane. Columbus is served by the Port Columbus International Airport which has direct service to 49 airports. AirtTran Airways is the latest addition to Port Columbus. AirTran is a discount airline with fares as low as $69 dollars.

Travel by bus. The cheapest way to get to Columbus is by bus. Columbus is served by the Megabus company. Fares on the Megabus start as low as $1 dollar! The Megabus stops are conviently located downtown and at The Ohio State University. Greyhound also serves Columbus with more destinations. A hub can be found downtown on Town street.

Take the freeway. Columbus is in the center of Ohio with freeways going in every direction. Just take I-71 from the Cleveland and Cincinnati areas. Or take I-70 if you're coming from the east or west.

Go to a football game. Ohio State football (OSU) is the biggest attraction to Columbus. Although, tickets can get a little pricey. With over 50,000 students, OSU has became one of the largest colleges in the country. Just being on campus on game day will provide plenty of free excitement.

Go for a walk. The German Village is located within walking distance of downtown. While simply walking around the village, with the 233 acres, it will seem as though you left Ohio and were in a real German city. While you're there, visit the Book Loft on Third street. It's one of the most unique book stores you'll see. It's a converted mansion with 32 rooms filled with over 100,000 books at great prices.

On the west side of the German Village, lies the Brewery District. Since the 1830s and through prohibition, the neighborhood was home to many breweries started by German immigrants. The breweries are gone now, but the district is still an attraction located within walking distance of downtown. It's the spot of much nightlife.

Experience the nightlife. The Short North District and the OSU campus is down High street just north of downtown. This is the center of the nightlife for Columbus. Bars and restaurants can be very expensive, but a lot cater to the poor college student.

Stick to the city to get the most of your money. The local bus is ran by COTA, and has many stops throughout town. The suburban malls only have expensive stores and restaurants to offer, sometimes with a real yuppie atmosphere. The city is where the culture is.
