Hair frizz can make your hair look unkempt and unhealthy. Hair frizz affects people with straight, curly, fine, thick, short and long hair. Create smooth, silky hair by reducing hair frizz using these tried and true methods.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Deep condition your hair if you perm or color your hair. The frizziness could be caused by chemicals used in the perming or coloring processes, and a deep conditioner can help you bring back the smoothness. You can find a deep conditioner at your local store in the same aisle where you find shampoo. Use one without oil to avoid a greasy look.

  2. Step 2

Apply a cream or anti-frizz product to your hair in the morning. This will help smooth down those little fly-aways where your hair parts. Put some of the product on your fingers and run it down on the problem areas.

  3. Step 3

Rinse conditioner out of your hair with cold water. This will help keep your hair looking smooth and less frizzy.

  4. Step 4

Use a large, round brush when you blow dry to smooth your frizzy hair. Pull the brush under your hair and point the hair dryer at your hair from the outside or top.

  5. Step 5

Get your hair trimmed. If you haven't had a haircut in over six weeks, you could have split ends causing the frizzy look. Take a trip to the salon and ask for a trim. Your hair will be healthier and it will show.

Tips & Warnings
  • Reduce the amount of hair products you use.
  • Reduce the chemicals you expose your hair to and go natural.
