How to Sell Games on Amazon
Just over a decade ago, collectors had to scour yard sales and auctions to find the board games of their dreams, hunting for old classics like the 3M bookshelf games. After a video game player beat a game on his Nintendo or Sega, the only use for the game was to pass it on to a friend or hope that it had some replay value. But then retail stores began taking used games as trade, and eBay and Amazon popped up, offering the ability to resell your used games at a decent price. Amazon is a much better option for the seller if you plan ahead and sell in volume.

1
Take a look at the Amazon quality scale and realistically rate your games. In the case of video games, look closely for scratches or other problems. Is the book there? Is the box in good condition? Be very critical--act as though you were buying the item. If it is a board game, check for the instructions and the list of contents. Count the pieces and see what is there. Check the box for shelf wear and other damage.

2
Appraise the game. Check other websites in addition to Amazon to see how other people are pricing the game. If it is a really great game but everyone is selling it, you may have to settle for a lower price. On the other hand, if the game is out of print and everybody wants it, you may be able to sell a used game for more than you paid for it.

3
Write a good description of the game that covers all of the important information, including what pieces are present and if the instruction book is included. If the game had expansion sets and you added pieces, be sure to mention that in your description. Did you love the game? Be sure to include that. The more enthusiasm you can generate, the better your game will sell.
-
4
Make sure your asking price is high enough to cover shipping. Amazon does not allow you to adjust the shipping costs, so if a board game is particularly heavy, you may need to figure some amount of shipping cost into the selling price.
-
5
Establish a good seller rating. Ship quickly after the sale clears and be sure that you are shipping what you advertised. Use strong packaging so games are not damaged in shipping.

Tips & Warnings
Once you have established yourself as a game seller on Amazon, consider buying items from your friends or at yard sales. By making a list of hot titles, you may be able to offer friends a better deal than they would get by trading in a game, and still make some extra cash to line your pocket.
Treat your games with loving care. The best way to ensure you get top dollar for a used game is to keep it in pristine condition and sell it when it's hot. For example, Grand Theft Auto IV was reselling for $45 about 6 weeks after it was released, if it was in good condition. A couple of weeks later, the resale price dropped to under $30.
