- Cloth Christmas napkins
- 2 yds. green corduroy (60 inches wide)
- 2 yds. green velvet
- 2 yds. quilt batting
- Pins
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Green thread
- Iron
- Ruler
- Measuring tape

Obtain an 8-count set of vintage cloth Christmas napkins and a 4-count set of contrasting cloth Christmas napkins. Iron all the napkins flat. Centering your measurement on the napkins, cut their edges to measure a 14-inch square.

Cut eight strips of the green velvet 3 inches wide by 14 inches long, five strips 3 inches wide by 46 inches long and two strips 3 inches wide by 68 inches long.

Sew one side of a contrasting napkin to a long side of a 14-inch velvet strip using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Sew one side of a vintage cloth Christmas napkin to the other long side of the sewn velvet strip. Sew another 14-inch strip to the other side of the vintage napkin. Sew a contrasting napkin to the other side of the velvet strip. The finished top row is a contrasting napkin, velvet strip, vintage Christmas napkin, velvet strip and contrasting napkin.

Sew the second row of the quilt using all vintage Christmas napkins. The finished row is a vintage Christmas napkin, velvet strip, vintage Christmas napkin, velvet strip and vintage Christmas napkin.

Repeat Step 4 for the third row of the quilt.

Repeat Step 3 for the fourth row of the quilt.

Turn each row over and press the seams open.

Attach the rows using 46-inch velvet strips. Attach additional 46-inch strips to the top and bottom of the quilt.

Turn the quilt over and press open the seams.

Attach the two 68-inch velvet strips to the sides of the Christmas quilt. Repeat Step 9.

Lay the green corduroy fabric, wrong-side up, on a large flat surface or the floor. Cover the corduroy with the quilt batting. Lay the finished quilt top on top of the batting, right-side up. Center the quilt top. Trim the batting to the edge of the quilt top. Cut the corduroy fabric 2 inches larger on all sides of the quilt top.

Fold the corduroy sides over 1 inch. Fold the corduroy over 1 inch once more, covering the edges of the quilt. Pin the corduroy in place. Miter-fold the corners for a clean, crisp look.

Sew a zigzag stitch around the edge of the cloth Christmas napkin quilt to attach the corduroy.

Tips & Warnings
You could purchase less green velvet if the strips were pieced together to achieve the needed measurement.
An old vintage tablecloth can easily be used in place of napkins. Cut 14-inch squares from the tablecloth.
