      Obtain an 8-count set of vintage cloth Christmas napkins and a 4-count set of contrasting cloth Christmas napkins. Iron all the napkins flat. Centering your measurement on the napkins, cut their edges to measure a 14-inch square.

      Cut eight strips of the green velvet 3 inches wide by 14 inches long, five strips 3 inches wide by 46 inches long and two strips 3 inches wide by 68 inches long.

      Sew one side of a contrasting napkin to a long side of a 14-inch velvet strip using a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Sew one side of a vintage cloth Christmas napkin to the other long side of the sewn velvet strip. Sew another 14-inch strip to the other side of the vintage napkin. Sew a contrasting napkin to the other side of the velvet strip. The finished top row is a contrasting napkin, velvet strip, vintage Christmas napkin, velvet strip and contrasting napkin.

      Sew the second row of the quilt using all vintage Christmas napkins. The finished row is a vintage Christmas napkin, velvet strip, vintage Christmas napkin, velvet strip and vintage Christmas napkin.

Tips & Warnings

  • You could purchase less green velvet if the strips were pieced together to achieve the needed measurement.

  • An old vintage tablecloth can easily be used in place of napkins. Cut 14-inch squares from the tablecloth.
