The MacBook Pro's trackpad essentially functions like a computer mouse, giving you as an easy way to move their cursor around the screen. However, Apple has built special features into the trackpad, one of which is the ability to zoom in on your display by just moving your fingers on the trackpad. This function is especially useful for people with visual problems who cannot always read everything on their computer screen.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • MacBook Pro running OS X 10.4 or later
  1. Step 1

Open "System Preferences" by clicking on the dock icon.

  2. Step 2

Click on the "Keyboard & Mouse" control panel underneath the "Hardware" category.

  3. Step 3

Go to the "Trackpad" tab at the top of the control panel window.

  4. Step 4

Check the box next to "Zoom while holding" to enable trackpad zooming. Then choose one of the three keyboard buttons from the drop-down menu. The options are the control key, the option key or the command key.

  5. Step 5

Hold down the key you chose in Step 4, place two fingers at the bottom of the MacBook Pro's trackpad and then move your fingers up the trackpad to zoom into your display. Moving two fingers down the trackpad will zoom the display out to its original resolution.
