Breed Pitbulls and Boxers

Breeding pitbulls and boxers creates a large breed of dog known as the bull boxer. Typically, as pittbulls and boxers are social animals, the bull boxers are as well, and enjoy the company of other people and dogs. Some claim that breeding the two types of dog negates some of the health problems experienced by the two different breeds. In short, breeding pitbulls and boxers can be a great way to make money and create a valuable pet.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a Mate for Your DogBefore you can begin breeding your pitbull or your boxer, you need to find another dog of the opposite breed. You can check online, in the newspaper, or find someone through word of mouth. When you find the other dog owner, or the other dog owner finds you, it's important to meet the other dog and owner, as you want to ensure the other dog has a good temperament, particularly if yours is the female.

  2. Step 2

Have Both Animals Checked by the VeterinarianIt is extremely important that both dogs are checked by a veterinarian to ensure that they are in good health, are up-to-date on their shots and that neither suffers from brucellosis, which eventually causes sterility and can cause puppies to die shortly after birth.

  3. Step 3

Put the Dogs TogetherPut the dogs together, and if you have to, hold the female so she doesn't run away or pull away from the other dog, which can hurt both the male and the female. The female shouldn't be bred only once, but several times to ensure that she gets pregnant. Breed them once a day for at least four or five days. Watch your dog while she's not being bred, because female dogs can get pregnant by more than one male at a time.

  4. Step 4

Find Good HomesAfter the female dog gives birth, it's up to the owners to get them their first shots, feed them for the first two months of their lives and find good homes for them. Before you put ads in the newspaper or online, find out what price the bull boxers typically bring in, and consider whether people will pay more for a male or a female.

Tips & Warnings
  • Breeding is not necessarily a lucrative business, and it's likely that after stud fees, veterinarian appointments and food, you will about break even.

on 11/14/2009 PLEASE do not create more mixed breeds on purpose while so many deserving mixed breeds are put to death in shelters! There are not enough homes for ones already here. Responsible owners spay & neuter their pets.
