How to Attend a Women of Faith Conference

Women of Faith conferences are held annually in cities all across America. These events host tens of thousands of women for uplifitng weekends filled with inspiring seminars, drama, and music. If you have considered attending one of these conferences, there are some simple ways to sign up, get a reduced rate, and possibly even make new friends in the process.

1. Plan to attend the conference with friends. If you have a group of friends who are interested in attending, make certain to all purchase your tickets at the same time. These conferences book one to two years in advance, so buy early. If the conference in your area has already sold out, check the message boards on the Women of Faith Website, or sites such as Craig's List to try to purchase tickets from individual sellers.

   If you don't have a friend who wants to attend, look into traveling with a church group tour. Many churches take busloads of women to the Women of Faith Conferences, so find a church in your area and call to see if they are taking a group. Group tickets are lower cost than individual seats, so you can save money and meet some new girlfriends in the process.

   Book the cheap seats. If cost is an issue, book the cheap seats without hesitation. Although you will be far from the stage, the conferences have jumbo-trons that are easily seen from any seat. Ticket costs range from $99.00 to $149.00 for individuals, but only $75.00 to $85.00 if you attend with a group.

4. Book your hotel early. Because thousands of women are going to deluge a city for an entire weekend, the hotels closest to the conference center book up right away. Traffic can be unbearable on conference day, so the shorter your commute the better. Book a hotel immediately after you book your tickets to make certain you have a room reserved. However, you should ask the hotel staff about their cancellation policy in case you need to change it later.

   Pack like a girl. When a group of women get away for a weekend, it can turn into a slumber party atmosphere, even if the women are way beyond their teenage years. Plan to have fun. Pack cute pajamas, nail polish for manicures, silk flowers to put in your hotel room, and several changes of clothes for after conference dining out and shopping. Don't be practical; just allow yourself to be a girl.

• Book 12 to 18 months in advance. Women of Faith conferences sell out nearly every year.

• If your church doesn't already have a group, be the leader and ignite interest and get a group together.

• Show DVD's of past conferences available on the Women of Faith website to get the ladies enthused.

• Once you have a group together, check into renting a bus if your church doesn't already own one.

• Pack your own pillow for your hotel room.

• Pack sodas so you don't have to pay two dollars a can from a hotel vending machine.

• Don't forget to bring a Bible and a notebook and pen for notes.

• Don't forget to bring Kleenex and waterproof mascara, chances are you will cry.
