Razor stubble is the prickly little hairs that can still be present after shaving. Getting a shave that is really close to the skin is the key factor in preventing razor stubble. Since facial hair is always growing you will have to repeat these steps every day and make these steps part of your morning routine to help prevent razor stubble.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Double edged razor
  • Facial cleanser or scrub
  • Shaving cream
  • Moisturizer
  1. Step 1

Purchase a good, double edged razor. Cheap disposable razors usually only have one blade and are less effective in cutting hair. Electric razors can be more convenient and quicker to use, but they usually don’t get very close to the skin so you have to keep going over the area and shave more frequently.

  2. Step 2

Use a good facial cleanser or scrub to thoroughly clean the skin before shaving. Make sure you use plenty of hot water as it will help to soften the razor stubble and open pores allowing you to be more effective in cutting the facial hairs. It is also important to keep the skin wet for a truly effective shave.

  3. Step 3

Use a really good shaving cream. A shaving cream that comes with a brush and produces a really thick lather is recommended. Creams for sensitive skin or natural ingredients are better because they tend to leave the skin softer and they are healthier for the skin,

  4. Step 4

Shave against the hairs. This means you should shave in the opposite direction in which the hairs are growing. This will also help to lift the hairs. You should run the razor across the area two times to ensure you have gotten it as close to the skin as possible.

  5. Step 5

Moisturize your skin after shaving with a good moisturizer. It can be scented to smell nice and it should be made with oil-free products.

Tips & Warnings
  • Shaving frequently is the only true way to prevent razor stubble but if you follow these steps you may be able to go longer without stubble and have to shave less frequently.
