Step 1
Place a sign on the door or near the sink. Behind the toilet at eye level is a good place to place a sign. It can be a simple sign that states “WASH YOUR HANDS” in big bold letters. Many places of business which serve food have adopted this method and it is a good way to stick the thought in men's heads when it is most needed and they will be less likely to forget.

Step 2
Buy interesting soap. It can be soap that smells really great that men will find appealing. It can also be soap that is molded in an interesting shape such as fish or stars, and it can also be in fun colors. A simple thing like soap can appeal to men and inspire them to use it.

Step 3
Refuse to allow them into the refrigerator until they wash their hands. Explain to them that there are health risks involved in the transmission of touching food with dirty hands and then putting it in their mouth. Explain to them that it can in fact actually make them sick. Since men hate being sick and love to eat, they will most likely abide by your request and go wash their hands.

Step 4
Refuse to be touched by them until they wash their hands. Firmly let them know that you know where their hands have been and even though you may love them you do not wish to have those types of germs on your body. This is especially important if your man is in contact with a lot of people or if it's during cold and flu season.

Step 5
Ask them if they washed their hands in front of other people. Since everyone knows that washing your hands is important they will not want to admit that they did not wash their hands. It may embarrass them but they will also be more likely to turn back around and wash those hands. Not washing your hands is considered to be gross and disgusting and no one wants to be thought of as gross and disgusting.
