How to Make Fonts Bold

Making the fonts in a document bold is a sure way of drawing attention to a word, sentence or paragraph. All word-processing programs and most text-based programs like spreadsheets and presentation applications offer the ability to easily bold the selected fonts. It is often as simple as clicking an icon on the taskbar of the program.

  • If you want the entire document in bold, click on "Edit" in the text menu and select "Select all." This will highlight the entire document. Use the bold icon or the "Format Fonts" menu to make the change.

  • To further bring attention to a bolded font, you may want to make the letter or word a different color. You can do that from the icon bar or under the "Format Fonts" window.
