How to Play the Plus and Minus Dice Game
The plus and minus dice game is a great game to play as a family with elementary school aged children. It allows children to play a game with their parents and learn simple math skills at the same time. Even adults can enjoy competing against each other playing a game of the plus and minus dice if they enjoy dice games where the winner is determined by the luck of the dice.

1
Gather a group of friends together to play the plus and minus dice game. Adults and children ages six and up can enjoy playing it. The minimum number of players is two, and the maximum number of players is eight. The ideal number of players is four to six players.
-
2
Choose one player to go first. He then rolls all five dice. That player should then remove the highest die and place that in front of him. If two dice have the same value tied for the highest value rolled, only remove one of them from the game.
-
-
3
Roll again with the four remaining dice; this time the roller removes the lowest die he rolled on that turn. Place that die next to the first one removed, in a line from the left to the right.
-
4
Toss the remaining three dice and remove the highest die thrown. Place this next to the second die that was removed from the game.
-
5
Roll the remaining two dice. Place these in order next to the other three dice that have been removed. The higher die should be placed next to the third die removed from the game. If both of the final two dice are the same value, roll them again until they are different from each other before removing those final two dice.
-
6
Score the roll of the dice. Add together the totals of the first, third, and fifth die and write down this total. Subtract the total of the second and fourth die from this total. This is the total score for the roller on that turn.
-
7
Pass the dice to the next player seated at the table in a clockwise direction. Continue playing until one player reaches a pre-determined total. That player is the winner.
