How to Play Battleship on Yahoo Messenger

With Yahoo Messenger, not only can you chat with your friends online, you can also play games with them, including Battleship. By playing Battleship on Yahoo Messenger, you don't even have to miss out on your chatting. Follow a few tips and you'll be sinking Battleships between instant messages in no time.

Instructions

1. Download Yahoo Messenger. In order to play games on Yahoo, you will first need to create a Yahoo account and download the messenger application (see Resources below). The Yahoo application will guide you through the setup process.

2. Add your friends. Once you have Yahoo Messenger installed, you can add your friends by knowing their Yahoo account ID and clicking on the plus sign to “add a contact” to your Yahoo application. If a friend does not have a Yahoo account, he can get one just like you did.

3. You will have to add the game plug-in by choosing the Yahoo plug-ins at the bottom of your main Yahoo account screen on the messenger application. Find the plug-in that lists games and add that plug-in by clicking it.

4. Now that you have added your friends and your plug-in, click on your friend’s user ID to start a conversation or simply go to your plug-ins and choose a multiplayer game. Once you click that button it will bring up a screen for you to click your friend’s user ID. Once you do that, click on the game you would like to play. Your friend will have the option to accept and then a screen will open up showing your game.
