How to Get a High School GED Online

While you cannot actually earn your GED online, you can study for the test and take practice tests online. The actual test must be taken at a testing center. However, there are a number of online programs that provide high school diplomas.

Instructions

1. Study and take practice GED tests online (see Resources below). Then go to the nearest GED testing center and take the test to get your GED.

2. Attend an accredited online high school to get your high school diploma. Some teenagers complete their high school courses completely online. These high schools can work for those starting high school or for those who just need to finish and get their degrees.

3. Go through an online college, career school or university that also provides high school degrees. This is a good option if you want to get your associate or bachelor's degree as well.

4. Check out your local community college. Most have online courses and options for students without high school diplomas.

Tips & Warnings

• While getting a GED is probably cheaper (most testing centers charge between $60 and $110), a high school diploma will probably open more career doors for you.
