If you are relatively new to Blackjack and do not know how Blackjack cards are valued this information is especially for you. Let's get started. The object
of Blackjack is to beat the dealer' s hand without busting or going over 21 points. The other players at the Blackjack table are no threat or concern to your plays. The dealer is your main concern and should get all the attention. Now, on to the value system. The cards in Blackjack are valued in the following manner:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

The Ace. The Ace card is valued as either a 1 or 11.

  2. Step 2

The Numbered Cards. Cards from 2 to 9 are valued as the number indicated on the cards.

  3. Step 3

The Face Cards and Ten. The 10, Jack, Queen, King, are all valued at 10 points.

  4. Step 4

Example. If your hand is an 7, 9, 5, the value is 21. If your cards are A,5,9, the value could be 24 (bust) if the A is valued at 11 or if you valued the A at 1 point, the value of your cards would be 15.

  5. Step 5

The choice to value the Ace at 1 or 11 is based on the value of the other cards in the hand. Remember you want to beat the dealers hand without busting or going over 21 points.
