There are literally thousands and thousands of affiliate programs available on the internet which makes it very easy to get frustrated and quit. Every affiliate program you run into will claim that it is the best and that it pays the highest commissions on its products. As a stay at home mom you don’t have a lot of time to waste figuring out which programs are reliable. Here are a few things to look at before you join any affiliate program.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Products

Make sure the merchant provides you with a wide range of products to choose from. These products can either be physical or downloadable. Usually, a program that has several products to promote is considered to be strong.

  2. Step 2

    Check Their Track Record

You only want to do business with honest and reliable companies. Before you join any affiliate program do a little research. Go to Google or any other search engine and type in the name of the affiliate program. If people have had bad experiences you better believe they will blog about, post it on forums or anywhere they can to let others know. Read testimonials and reviews. Check them out with the Better Business Bureau. You want to make sure that the company you choose to do business with will pay you on time. For stay at home moms I always recommend starting out with the reputable affiliate networks such as Commission Junction or Clickbank. This way you don’t have to worry about dealing with a dishonest company because they handle that part. Every business that is in their network has to adhere to certain standards.

  3. Step 3

    Is Support Available For Affiliates

You always want to make sure support is available for affiliates before you join any affiliate program. If you have questions or concerns you want to be able get them handled in a decent amount of time. Good support is imperative for not only your success but for the merchant’s success as well.

  4. Step 4

    What Payment Methods Are Available?

As an affiliate marketer the main thing you are trying to do is make money. Each affiliate program has different payment methods. Some will pay by check, some will offer direct deposit and some will pay via PayPal. Check to see and make sure you understand how and when you will be getting paid.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always remember these tips before joining any affiliate program. Do the proper research. This will help you avoid doing a lot of work and not getting paid for it.

on 10/22/2008 Babyhomepages.net has a pretty good affiliate program since it's targeted for stay at home moms. The pay out is $3 for referrals who sign up for the Super Baby Club memebership and .15 cents for each new member sign up for the free website who uploads a picture. You can email them on their website. Great for extra money if you get your neighborhood moms to start a website for their child.
