Warm and tasty apple turnovers are easy to make and a treat to eat. Ingredients may be exchanged for lower calorie or fat items.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 medium tart apple
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 dash ground nutmeg
  • 1 package refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar or splenda
  1. Step 1

    Peal and slice your apple.

  2. Step 2

In a bowl, combine the apple, applesauce, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and nutmeg. Lightly mix.

  3. Step 3

Roll out each biscuit into a 6-in. circle. Place on greased baking sheets.

  4. Step 4

Place a large tablespoonful of apple mixture in the center of each.

  5. Step 5

Fold in half and pinch edges to seal. You can get creative and use a fork or toothpick and put designs n the dough. Brush the tops with butter. Sprinkle some cinnimon and sugar(or sugar substitute) over the tops of the apple turnovers.

  6. Step 6

Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

You can serve warm or cool.
