Everyone with a webpage, website, or blog all need to promote thier website. I have listed below, free website promotion techniques that anyone can use.

Step 1

Sign up for trafficswarm. Trafficswarm offers free website advertising in exchange for viewing other sites that interest you. Trafficswarm is a great way to promote business to business websites.
Step 2

Write articles. Writing articles not only brings you traffic but it also helps you to gain a higher position with the search engines, by bringing you more targeted traffic, and adding a backlink for your website.
Step 3

participate in forums. Forums hold allot of weight with the search engines as they are updated constantly. If you are discussing topics related to your website your link will be in front of viewers who are searching for information on your webpage.
Step 4

Social networking. Participate in social networking sites such as digg, or stumbleupon. I suggest only using a couple of social networking sites as it will take allot of your time to participate. If you are not actively participating in these sites, you will not benifet from them.
Step 5

Website directories. Website directories have lost most of there steam with the search engines, but they still don't hurt. Place a link to your site on the more popular directories such as dmoz, and yahoo and you could see a decent traffic increase.
Step 6

Yahoo answers. Yahoo answers has become really popular over the past couple of months. Check there site and there is more than likely a question that your website can answer.
