How to Clip and Organize Coupons

Coupons can save you tons of money!

Although the task of cutting coupons from various publications and organizing them may sometimes seem to consume more time than the process is worth, if done properly it will produce a grocery bill that points to a different conclusion. A disciplined approach to coupon saving can save hundreds — even thousands — of dollars each year.

Things You'll Need

• Scissors
• Folders
• Expanding file
• Card file box

Instructions

1. Look through your newspapers, sales ads, coupon books, etc. and clip every coupon you find — even if you know you aren't going to use them.

2. Clear your workspace.

3. Sort through the clipped coupons, placing coupons you aren't going to use in a separate pile from those you plan to use.

4. Separate the coupons you know you'll use into categories, such as restaurant, meat, frozen food, produce, cereal, baked goods, etc.

5. Create a folder for each category and arrange the contents for each in alphabetical order. Alternatively, purchase an expanding file or a card file box made especially for keeping track of coupons.

6. Pass along to friends, family members or other shoppers at the stores you visit any coupons for which you have no use.
