A disciplined approach to coupon saving can save hundreds — even thousands — of dollars each year.

      Look through your newspapers, sales ads, coupon books, etc. and clip every coupon you find — even if you know you aren't going to use them.

      Clear your workspace.

      Sort through the clipped coupons, placing coupons you aren't going to use in a separate pile from those you plan to use.

      Separate the coupons you know you'll use into categories, such as restaurant, meat, frozen food, produce, cereal, baked goods, etc.

      Create a folder for each category and arrange the contents for each in alphabetical order. Alternatively, purchase an expanding file or a card file box made especially for keeping track of coupons.

      Pass along to friends, family members or other shoppers at the stores you visit any coupons for which you have no use.
