How to Compose A Full Block Letter
Full Block is a style of writing business letters which dispenses with all of the tedious indenting and punctuation except in the body of the letter. It makes for an efficient form of letter writing which is being preferred in the business world. Once learned the process is quite simple and one needs to follow a few very simple rules to produce a professional looking letter.

1. Write the date at the top left hand corner of the page. This may take any accepted form, e.g. all digits, 10/14/2008 or a mixture October 14th 2008.

2. Advance the cursor down 10-12 spaces using the Enter key and type in the recipient's name and address.

3. Advance the cursor down 2 spaces and write the topic of the letter in this format, RE: (topic)

4. Advance the cursor down 2 more spaces and write the greeting, Dear Sir, Dear Madam, Dear Mr. Jones, Dear Dr. Smith.

5. Introduce the letter in the first paragraph, by outlining your reason for writing the letter and introduce the topic or topics.

6. Deal with each topic in a paragraph of its own and make the paragraphs brief as business people rarely have ample time to wade through wordy letters.

7. Advance the cursor 2 spaces when you have finished and write the salutation, either Yours faithfully, if you are making a request, or Yours sincerely if it is a letter of a personal nature.

8. Advance the cursor 5 times and write your own name and address or contact details and print the letter and sign it in the space above your name.
