How to Make Pumpkin Bread

This recipe is not too spicey so you can still taste the simple goodness of the pumpkin.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • medium mixing bowl
  • large mixing bowl
  • wooden spoon
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • loaf pan
  • toothpick
  • vegetable oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/4 cup milk
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

    Grease loaf pan.

  3. Step 3

    In medium mixing bowl stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda.

  4. Step 4

    In large mixing bowl stir brown sugar with shortening till combined.

  5. Step 5

    Add eggs to large bowl and stir.

  6. Step 6

    Add pumpkin and milk to large bowl and stir.

  7. Step 7

    Add flour mixture from medium bowl to pumpkin mixture in large bowl and stir till well combined.

  8. Step 8

    Spoon batter into greased loaf pan.

  9. Step 9

    Bake for 55 to 60 minutes and test with toothpick to see if done.
