All of us want to find the best doctor possible, and in the past all we could do was rely on word of mouth from friends, but recently some websites have organized that track user ratings of doctor's across the nation. This allows us to get the viewpoints of those who we don't know and get the viewpoint of a wide variety of people.

The top rating site is probably ratemds.com. The site is very user friendly and allows you to sort by state, city, doctor last name, best rating, number of ratings, and specialty. The site has more reviews than most of the others and is a great tool to use.

Another very useful site is vitals.com. Vitals.com allows you to get a nice breakdown of exactly where any doctor went to school, how much experience they have, as well as the reviews that patients have on that specific doctor.

Healthgrades.com is another helpful site, but unfortunately it is not free. The site is made up of reviews of professionals on specific practices and hospitals, and is very good information, but the user must buy the report.
