How to Make An Easy Butterscotch Sauce.

This is a delicious sauce to top off ice cream, any plain cakes and puddings.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup light cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  1. Step 1

    In a heavy saucepan, combine the syrup, sugars, salt, cream, and butter.

    Stirring constantly, cook sauce over medium heat until it comes to a boil.

  2. Step 2

    Allow sauce to boil, stirring only occasionally, for five minutes.

    Remove from heat.


    Cool slightly.

  3. Step 3

    Stir in vanilla.

    Serve warm or cool.

    Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • This sauce must be stored in a refrigerator. Thin for serving by heating, over low heat, in the top of a double boiler.
