Things You'll Need:
- Teflon tape
- Hand held shower head (priced from $30 -$150)
- Pliers
-
Step 1
Start by removing the old wall mounted shower and cleaning the threads of the shower stem which protrudes from the wall. An old wet towel is fine for cleaning the threads of the stem. Remove any old teflon tape.
-
Step 2
Once you have cleaned the shower stem, carefully wrap new teflon tape around the threads. Wrap in a clockwise direction, so when you thread the shower head on the tape won't unravel.
-
Step 3
Attach the shower head holder to the shower stem. Tighten by hand or use a pair of pliers if you don't have a strong grip (DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN). Then attach the shower hose to the shower holder. Tighten the same as before. Now attach the actual shower head to the shower hose, again tightening as before. Turn water on and check for leaks. Tighten more as needed. Congrats! Enjoy your shower...
