Want to play blues and bend notes? Here is how to get the first concept.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Grab harmonica and open lips wide. Seal lips above the holes on the solid part of harmonica. Inhale easily, not hard....no air should come through, yet.

  2. Step 2

Slooowly tilt the harp toward the holes so that a tiny, tiny sliver of air comes through...wuuahhh. Repeat until you can make it wuuahh anytime you want!

  3. Step 3

Next, work on pinching your mouth and raising and lowering your tongue to get the same sound as in step 1. YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY

Tips & Warnings
  • It is easier to get the "bend" going when you are inhaling.
  • Remember that if you are bending using a cheap harp it will get out of tune.
