How to "bend" notes on the harmonica

Want to play blues and bend notes? Here is how to get the first concept.

Things You'll Need:

• Harmonica

1. Grab harmonica and open lips wide. Seal lips above the holes on the solid part of harmonica. Inhale easily, not hard....no air should come through, yet.

2. Slooowly tilt the harp toward the holes so that a tiny, tiny sliver of air comes through...wuuahhh. Repeat until you can make it wuuahh anytime you want!

3. Next, work on pinching your mouth and raising and lowering your tongue to get the same sound as in step 1. YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY

Tips & Warnings

• It is easier to get the "bend" going when you are inhaling.
• Remember that if you are bending using a cheap harp it will get out of tune.
