Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • cardstock
  • pens, pencils
  • ruler
  • scissors
  • art supplies
  1. Step 1

Position the cardstock horizontally in front of you.

  2. Step 2

With the ruler, pencil, and scissors, cut and measure an 8 1/2 inch by 5 1/2 inch piece of cardstock.

  3. Step 3

Position the 8 1/2x5 1/2 piece in front of you horizontally. Position your right hand in the center of the card. Slide your left hand under the left side of the card. Lift left side of card and bring it over to the right side, lining up the two edges. Now fold along the center. Crease well. You should now have a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card that opens up like an invitation card.

  4. Step 4

With the ruler and pencil, mark a 1/4 or 1/2 inch border around all four edges of the front of the card.

  5. Step 5

Decorate the front of the card with your colored pencils, watercolor pencils, markers, or paints. You may leave the border blank or create a repeating border around the card.

  6. Step 6

Erase any pencil lines you don't want to show. Now, make as many of these as you need for your party or event. People will love your personalized invitations.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put all the information about your party or event on the inside of the invitation. If you like, you can print the information onto the cardstock first, and then cut and make the invitations.
  • There are invitation envelopes available that will fit the invitation you just made perfectly. Find them at most office supply or big box stores.
